RULES + FAQ

What counts?

Short version: make browser-adjacent stuff, keep proof, submit something people can open.

it runs

Submit something real that people can open. Stickers are baseline.

it is useful

Useful browser projects can get gear, like a good wireless mouse.

it feels complete

Complete projects can get bigger rewards, like a keyboard or browser subscription grant.

it is kind of wild

A polished browser engine, or something equally ambitious, can get a portable monitor.

Prize tier depends on review. Working builds qualify. More complete builds can get bigger rewards.
What counts as "browser-related"?

Anything tied to browsing: browser, extension, browsing buddy, tab toy, or weirder thing. If unsure, ask in Slack.

Do I need experience building browser engines?

No. Start from wherever you are. A simple project that actually ships beats an ambitious one that doesn't.

What language should I use?

Any language. C++ and Rust make sense for browser engines. Extensions and buddies can be built in almost anything.

What decides which prize tier I get?

Reviewers look at whether it runs, how complete it feels, and how ambitious the idea is.

What's the deadline?

Submit when ready. If a cutoff gets announced, Slack and this page will say so.

How do I submit?

Use the Hack Club submission form linked from the Submit page.
